Mysore Ananthaswamy was a famous singer of Kannada Sugama Sangeetha. He set to music many poems of well known Kannada poets and popularised them throughout Karnataka. Mysore Ananthaswamy hailed from a family steeped in music. His grandfather was Vidwan Chikkarama Rao, who, in his time was known as "Taala Bramha". Not surprising then, that young Ananthaswamy chose to follow in the footsteps of his famous grandfather.
